Excellent idea and sentiment! Wow - if only more parents (and sons/daughters) thought like this!
Major positive vibes and wishes that your Mum gets the "Message in a Bottle".
Awesome! :-)

Sir Kev & Darkie replied:
Even if Mum doesn't get the bottle, it will keep the kids interest in the river (which is great for when we do the Darling River Run) as they will be searching for the bottle they threw in the river.

Nice idea Kev, we found a can buried in the garden when we first moved to Bathurst with a message, it had been placed there by the youngest son who did not want to leave 'his house' come hell or highwater. I have it in the garden shed and as he is now about 18 years of age maybe the time is right to knock on his Mums front door with the can.
At least all the bottles should be picked up now, then again I suppose I underestimate the entire spread of water.

I am worried it will end up several kilometers from the Actual river when the water receeds :(
Maybe someone will find it...................... Fingers Crossed

If I see it going down through Menindee I will send it back.
It will probably be found in an irrigation channel somewhere around Dirranbandi though.

Very nice, the kids will always remember that when they talk about the river in later years I'm sure.
