How to get your 4x4 out of an eroded gully in the absolute middle of nowhere! - The video.

Submitted: Saturday, Jan 03, 2009 at 16:15
In short...........with a lot of digging!

We had been following a tenuous route for about 70 kilometres beating in on an old shot line just south of Moses Chair. We diverged off this on a long unused track from the survey and mining exploration days in the 70’s. It was largely overgrown and in the shallow valley where two low ranges met, the sandy soil had been eaten away over the proceeding years by the tumultuous rains that often drown these parts during the Pilbara wet season. We quickly found ourselves in high sided washaway that was coming more constricted all the time. With the trailers behind, backing out was not an option. With the sun just setting, time was of the essence.

These three short video’s taken by Gaby (the Canadian Voice you can here exclaiming “HOLY CRAP” all the time). Note the Cooper tyres, the Engel Fridge and the Toyota following the trail blazing Patrol (What a stirrer I am!).

Details and locations are in my blog dated 17th July 2008.
