G'day Mick
I've just had a wander through your memories viewing your images, it is nice to connect to certain places through your eyes and camera ~ thanks for the memories ~ just different people at different times.

Thanks Joe. You do live in an amazing part of the world and one of my favourites. I'm a bit envious that in 4 or 5 hours drive, you can be in Gods own country.

Hi Mick, the photo of CSR 2007 looking south well 33 looks like it has been graded or was it just scraped?. It was 1984 last time I was in that area and I can only remember parts of the trip, should do it again in the next few years. A lot of very good photos here. The camel valley, the worn tarck in it is that a camel pad or a road/track?

G'day there Rob. The canning had been graded for 30 kilometres either side of the Dary Junction/Kidson. I almost cried seeing it eremembering teh corrugations that shook the bejeezuz out of us in previous years.

The path has been worn by Camels only which is amazing considering how reluctant they are to put their soft pads on rocky ground. Some areas were more suited to mountain goats than dromedaries.

Great Photos Mick, I enjoyed the look. Many of them do bring back those memories of great trips from the past. Excellent shot of the Black Breasted Buzzards, you usually only see them in flight.

Thanks Mick.

We were able to quietly sneak up on them over a 15 minute period. I was getting really close when a group of angry accountants on their big overland motorcycles thundered past on the Birdsville about 600 metres away frightened the birds off unfortunately. When you take quite a few (as we do with digtial imagery these days), it's good to see a few of them working out.

Fantastic pictures there Mick. As always you've given us a arm chair ride into the beauty of the deserts.
My only disappointment is that even more of you 'othersiders' will see the beauty of the western deserts and come over here - soon it will be like Pitt St at 5.00pm lol.

Pitt Street...never Phil. Too hard to get to. Mind you I have seen a noticable increase in the numbers visiting Rudall these days. T'is a magic spot and I just hope I can spend a lot more time out there challenging myself before diesel gets too expensive lol.

Enjoy your sojourn this year my friend, I'm envious. Mick

Thanks Ruth, you're right on both counts. A safe trip and happy travelling on your Simpson trip. I'll be in the Simpson myself in July. Say hello if you see the Tuck Truck.

Hi Mick
Hope you also have a safe trip, if you see a red jeep with a roof top tent followed by another 5 or more 4WD stop and say hello.

What an amazing journey you just took me on Mick, and so much of it here in WA which most of us never get to see. Fantastic, and some wonderful shots. Well done.

You have labelled one Mt Liesner, but i believe it is Mt Liebig - the one Len Beadell found so scenic he lined up the road so all future travellers could enjoy the view - we did, and my similar photo is one of my favourites.

No wonder my signature is Red Desert Dreaming.

I dunno Dave. I was watching the GSD crew on EOTrackme from the office this month and it didn't feel good at all. Just itching to get back out there. Perhaps next year methinks. A 6 weeker around the GSD and Rudall. Might even get you and Pauline up there again.
