I finally got around to updating my Map of travels both recent and past about this great country of ours. Still plenty of gaps to explore.

It's almost frightening to think how much things have changed. Fuel was an outrageous $1.00 per gallon (22c per litre) in the remote outback in the early to mid 70's. The bitumen north stopped at Port Augusta. The Great Northern Hwy was a track. The Gunbarrel didn't have any corrugations (well I may have made that up lol) UHT milk didn't exist (god I hated powdered milk) and petrol vehicles were largely the go.

Mick,
This is just the sort of map I am working on to allow you to build digitally and link to your blogs etc. There is a bit of work in trying to make it work in an easy fashion because like you we have done heaps of tracks and I do not want the process to be too hard to build the map. Good job and it does look like you have been everywhere - almost, I can see that you have left yourself a few holes for the next trip or ten. Take care.

There are always a few holes David and never enough time in the holidays. The new mapping feature sounds great. Can hardly wait to see it. Cheers Mick.

Mick,
Sorry I've been off line for a while and just caught up with your map. I've got one that looks fairly similar but I try to distinguish between trips with different colours , dots dashes etc... but you tend to run out of options. Its great to plan the next trip to fill in another gap though. Well done on your presentation... Excellent

We retired to travell
It's time to go again...
