Edition 173: 22nd January 2009

Hi ExplorOz Reader,

Have you recorded any travels with your GPS lately? If so - why not put those plot files to good use and submit them for your chance to win an ExplorOz Membership (or renewal). To win Membership, simply send us your GPS plot file(s) for any of the following:

The best three (3) plot files received will win!

Tip: The "best" plot files will have high resolution (plot points within 60m), is also date and time stamped for driving speeds, and closely matches the route of our existing trek notes - see links in the list above. However, even if your particular plot doesn’t exactly match the listed treks, please send them in anyway because you never know - you may still win! Judges decision is final.

To enter, email plot files to info@exploroz.com and state your name and the associated trek note. You can enter as many times as you like. Competition runs for the month of January only. 3 winners will each receive Personal Membership valid for 12 months. Good luck!

Blogs Update

You should be able to navigate around much easier now that we have placed the dynamic calendar control and relative links at the bottom of each blog. We have also increased the viewing width of the blog, so photos lying side by side can look better with text in-between. If you are an ExplorOz Member and have a blog on our system - please click into it and see how it looks in the new width. You can always edit your blog to delete or add extra spaces to make it look better. Else, send us anemail if you run into problems.

Shop with Geographic Search

Did you know you can search for products in the ExplorOz Shop by clicking or drawing a box on the Geographic Search map? All maps, books, CDs, DVDs in our shop are "geo-referenced" so using this search method gives you an accurate list of products covering a specified area. Just upgraded this week, you'll find better performance and many more products.

David Carnegie Road Trek Update

Member - Phil B (WA) has added additional info to the David Carnegie Road trek note - covering the Breaden Bluff Caves, Pikalu Rock Holes and nearby Aboriginal ceremonial grounds. This is a fascinating area and it’s rather close to the main track heading north to Empress Spring. Take a peek...
