The Gibb River is wide and very sandy at this point but travellers will find the crossing of the Kalumburu Road has a concrete causeway, although this is often covered with water. This major causeway allows local traffic (cattle trucks and supply trucks) to access Drysdale and other stations north towards Kalumburu. Camping is no longer permitted here and is now a day use area only. Please take care not to pollute.
