This is the caravan and
camping area associated with the
Ross River Resort. It is located a short distance from the old
homestead that forms the core of the main resort area and accessed either via the
homestead or directly from Binns Track.
The area is quite extensive, with an area of powered sites for vans and tents and a much greater area for informal camping. Amenities are of older style, similar to those often found in sporting facilities. There are covered picnic areas, a block of accommodation units and a quite modern conference centre, complete with commercial kitchen.
Part of the area is "decorated" with relics of old trucks and shrubs have been planted to supplement some tree coverage.
The area is located near the foot of a rocky range with
the gap through which Binns Track runs to the south, as a backdrop. It is quite a pretty site. About 1 km to the North of
the entrance to the
camp grounds Binns Track intersects with the
Ross River Highway. This approach entails a crossing of
Ross River, which can be a water crossing after rain.
