The camping areas are huge with plenty of trees for shade and very clean grounds. The rubbish is removed daily, the amenities are excellent and there is hot water on tap all the time. Camp kitchen contains a BBQ, fridge and wash up areas. The water available on tap through the grounds is pure.

Fraser Island's most famous wreck, the "Maheno" was driven ashore in 1935 during a cyclone. The Maheno was a 5282 ton triple screw turbine steamer luxury liner, accommodating 254 first class and 201 second class passengers.
