 Description of Marakoopa Cave

Marakoopa Cave is a limestone cave in Mole Creek Karst National Park, and is just one of over 300 known caves and sinkholes in the area.

Marakoopa Cave is one of just two caves in the area open to tourists and features two underground streams, a large display of glow-worms, large caverns, rim pools, reflections and shawl and flowstone features. Visitors have the option of two 45 minute guided tours of the Cave taking place several times a day, every day except Christmas Day.

Bookings are not required for individuals but are necessary for groups of 10 and over.

Tickets are also available from the centralised ticket office at 330 Mayberry Rd, which is located about 600 metres prior to the entrance to Marakoopa Cave (Mole Creek). This office does accept cash, along with eftpos, visa card, master card or bankcard. If visiting both King Solomons and the Marakoopa Caves, you should allow 15 minutes to travel the 11 km between them.

King Solomons Cave Carpark [4.48km]

This carpark is located a few hundred metres away from the entrance to the cave and ticket office (which is downhill from here) so ensure you haven't packed any prohibited items when you leave your vehicle to pay your fees. Food and drink is not allowed in the cave. Check locally regarding new regulations for the use of torches and camera flash lights.

King Solomons Cave is part of Mole Creek Karst National Park. King Solomons is a small compact cave system rich with lavish colours and formations. Visitors to the cave may participate in a guided tour that operates seven days a week excluding Christmas Day.
