James Price Point is a headland north of
Broome that has long been a remote coastal area of interest to the Jabirr Jabirr and Goolarabooloo people, and a beach camping site for
Broome locals & other travellers coming to visit.
In 2008 it was also proposed as the location of a massive LNG plant, however after many years of campaigning by the community of
Broome, local Indigenous groups, and people from all over Australia and the world, and by successful lobbying by the Wilderness Society, the proposal was blocked.
Free camping is available here for up to a 3 day maximum stay. Visitors must be fully self-sufficient. There are no facilities. 4WD required. The
