 Description of Gwalia

Established in 1896, the Sons of Gwalia mine was so named by its Welsh syndicate because of the word Gwalia (origin: Latin) being an ancient poetic name for the country of Wales. It later came under the management of Herbert Hoover who subsequently went on to become the 31st President of the United States of America (1929-1933).
