The Rest Area is 1.7Klm S.E from the top of Cunninghams Gap , the Entry and exit is very narrow and would be unsuitable for Caravans, Camper Trailers would be OK . There is also a walking track from this site

On 25 August 1828 Allan Cunningham was the first European to find and explore Cunningham's Gap. He named the guardian peaks of the Gap as Mount Mitchell (after Sir Thomas Mitchell, Surveyor-General) and Mount Cordeaux (after William Cordeaux, Mitchell's assistant).
