Information

The picturesque Lane Cove River winds through a peaceful bushland valley within easy reach of the city centre, extending from East Ryde to Wahroonga/Pennant Hills.
These vary from picnicking, boating and mountain-bike riding, to walking through bushland and along river foreshores. Thirty-five picnic sites are available (bookings required for large groups, phone 9888 9160); most have wood, gas or electric barbecues. Camping and cabins are also available at the nearby caravan park (phone 9888 9133). Rowboats are for hire (swimming not advisable), and animals in rehabilitation may be viewed at the Kukundi Wildlife Shelter, which is located near the children's playground.
Access 10 km north-west of Sydney CBD. Enter from Lane Cove Road, Dehli Road or Lady Game Drive. Vehicle entry fee applies. Bus services 550 and 551 operate regularly from Chatswood Station.
