 Description of Bribie Island National Park

This sandy island, 34klm long and up to 8km wide, is located to the east of Caboolture at the northern end of Moreton Bay and separated from the mainland by Pumicestone Passage. Access is via the Caboolture-Bribie Island Road. The island is a popular destination for surfers, bushwalkers, birdwatchers, fisherfolk, picnickers and campers.
Poverty Creek camping area
Camping permit and VSP required for Poverty Creek camping area. Four-wheel drive access via White Patch Esplanade. Located 7klm north of White Patch Ranger Headquarters. Boat access via Pumicestone Passage. Bring drinking water and firewood. A camping permit and VSP required for Gallaghers Point camping area. Four-wheel drive access via White Patch Esplanade. Located 3klm north of White Patch Ranger Headquarters. Boat access via Pumicestone Passage. No built fireplaces, use existing fire sites. Bring drinking water and firewood. Gas stove preferred.
