Some five kilometres from the Eyre Highway is the abandoned Buldania mining site. It has hundreds of mine shafts, costeans, tunnels and trenches. There are also remnants of head frames, sluices, conveyers and loading facilities. It’s a very interesting place to stop and explore, although, take extreme care as there are many abandoned shafts with many of these more than 20m deep.
