The green fibreglass tank on the stand you see from the main road (shown in the picture) isn't Holland's Tank, so you must follow the track 300m into the reserve from this point. At this site, you'll simply see a hole in the ground - in Holland's day "tanks" were built into the ground so water could flow and seep into them.

This is the site of the original Holland Tank built by John Holland in 1890, which in those days were built into the ground so water could flow and seep into them. Today, you'll just see an overgrown depression in the ground, but this is what Holland used to store water and was his base for his sandalwood pulling operation.
