Strzelecki Tk & Merty Merty Access SA @ ExplorOz

There are short tracks out to the well sites but due to public liability they are closed to visitors and you are advised to stay well away.

Note - if you continue east at Merty Merty its 54km to Bollards Lagoon along a firm but compacted red sandy surface with mini dunes - some 205 over 99km. At Bollards Lagoon you can camp pick up the Bore Track, another alternative track to Innamincka. Fee applies - available at Bollards Lagoon Homestead.

Also, just 15km further east of Bollards Lagoon is the corner post of SA, NSW and Qld, called Cameron's Corner. There's a small operation here - with fuel, basic camping, showers and a simple store.

This is the junction to Merty Merty Homestead 10km. Comes to junction with "Old Strzelecki Track" - warning, very slippery when wet but when dry a diversion path to Innamincka bypassing Moomba. The track is pretty barren but there are a few odd sights to keep you interested. The plain is dotted with numerous oil wells with brightly coloured pumps operating full-time like giant meccano sets.
