Located in Fotherby Park is a life size statue of the last true Riverland identity, Possum. Also in the park is the Paddle Steamer Ruby which has restored with the help of local service clubs and volunteers from the district.

Built between 1879 – 1881, this single story brick goal with bluestone trim was designed by colonial architect James Barnett. The bricks were made from local clay and the bluestone was from Wales, was transported from Malmsbury in Victoria. The goal was used until its closure in 1927 and today is used is a major tourist attraction.

It is at this junction that the town of Wentworth began. The fist white person to visit this spot was Captain Charles Sturt on the 23rd January 1830. A short walk in this park takes you to the viewing tower where you can get a better prospective of this confluence.
