Camp sites near River
An attractive and popular local swimming & picnic ground.
A hung creek flat, tucked in below the road, high above the creek. Reasonable shade from an open woodland of Gippsland Red Gum, Red Stringybark, casuarina and wattles. Facing partially cleared hills where the gray-green of Red Box lines the ridges.
Facilities include a large, open hall complete with 2 fireplaces.
The Freestone Creek features deep pools in a rocky gorge. Combined with a low weir it offers swimming even in a dry summer.
Camp fees ($5 per site/night) should be paid at the general store in Briagolong.
