Batton
Hill camp has been abandoned but is still a good spot to
camp. All the
infrastructure is standing but
water, power and comms is disconnected. Its an interesting walk around seeing the incredible
oasis that had been built here -
toilets, showers, outdoor communal areas with wood fired pot belly barbeques, shade huts, tables, chairs,
water tanks, windmills plus many car wrecks and other equipment.If you visit, make sure you take the short walk up the signposted nature walk to the top of Batton
Hill for 360 degree
views. Best at sunrise or sunset.
