Most State forests are regrowth, which means they have been harvested, regenerated and matured, sometimes several times over. On the South Coast, forests near Narooma, Batemans Bay and Queanbeyan have been supplying timber for more than 130 years.
This forestry map produced by Forests NSW GIS Branch, South Coast Region, and the NSW DPI Communications Branch, covers regions such as Bendethera and Deua National Park, Bodalla Forest Park, Murramarang National Park and much more. The back of this map includes a detailed description of the activities, picnics, drives and camping available as well as the history of the forests. It also has a table showing the Recreation Facilities available in each forest.
