Customised Camel Discovery Off-Road Camper-Trailer

The Roof Top Tent can be removed from the trailer and used on top of your vehicle for those times when you don’t want to pull a trailer, and the OzTent can be used as a stand-alone tent as required.

The trailer was made to fit the Maggiolina by The Camel Group. It is a standard Camel Discovery Off-Road Camper-Trailer up to the steel trailer deck. It weighs about the same (unloaded) as a standard Camel Discovery.

The trailer has made 3 trips since new :-
Brisbane to 1770 (all bitumen), Brisbane to Canberra (nearly all bitumen), Brisbane to Victoria then Flinders Ranges, Strzelecki Track, Innamincka and back to Brisbane (half & half, bitumen & dirt). It has never been on a beach.

Features (Trailer):
• Galvanised full length 3mm chassis with 1800mm reinforced drawbar
• 7 Leaf greasable AL-KO outback suspension system with heavy duty hangers and rebound springs
• Heavy duty parallel bearing axle with oversize hubs
• 10" Electric brakes
• 16" 5 stud rims with Land Cruiser stud pattern and LT265/75 R16 6pr tyres
• Complete trailer was hot dip galvanised with natural finish
• 10" solid jockey
• Off road hitch
• 2 x 4.5kg gas bottle holders (but only 1 bottle!)
• 2 x Jerry can holders
• Toolbox, sealed seams, large size and lockable with quality lockable OJOP catches and dust sealed
• Spare wheel vertically mounted on drawbar
• Stone guard on drawbar
• AL-KO drop down jacking stabilizer legs complete with crank handle
• Side opening tailgate with lockable quality cam-lock adjustable OJOP catch
• Checker plate in-fills on sides
• 65 litre Camel heavy duty water tank fitted including outside hand pump, internal electric pump and filler flap
• Swing-out Deluxe Kitchen on hinged tailgate complete with 2 burner Dometic gas stove, 3 drawers, cubby hole and an extension shelf
• Gas strut assisted lift up deck allows access into trailer from outside even when tent is erected
• Quality rubber seal on the deck and tailgate prevents dust entering the trailer
• 80AH battery in battery box to power lights, fridge, water pump, etc with recharging via Anderson Plug from towing vehicle. Battery box also has 2 x cigarette lighter style connections for accessories plus external wing nut terminals
• Solid steel deck as the base for the sleeping area (roof-top tent)
• Bike carrier hitch attachment under rear tailgate

Features (Sleeping Area):
• Maggiolina Airlander (Medium: 145cms x 210cms) Roof Top Tent with fibreglass top and bottom, and waterproof sides when erected. (Ht 30cms closed, 92cms open)
• Zippered, fly-screened windows on all 4 sides with entries either side.
• Extendable aluminium ladder
• Unit sets up in about 90 seconds by winding up the lid from the base.

Features (Annexe):
• What can we say? It’s an OzTent RV-3! Very quick and easy to set up.
• OzTent Caravan Connector that attaches to sail tracks on any of 3 sides of the Roof-top tent (both sides and rear) making a perfect way to get in and out of the sleeping area in private and without getting wet.

Note that in the pics showing the OzTent, the annexe poles haven't been used (but are included in the setup).
