Description
Ka Ka Mundi is a remote section of the
Carnarvon National Park and is suited to people wanting to get away from it all. With more than 30km of
sandstone cliffs and escarpments, rocky outcrops there is plenty for the experience walker to enjoy.
Overlooking the campsite is cave-pocked
sandstone hills that are worth exploring, but remember that spirits live in these caves and will cause illness if you come into contact with them, according to Aboriginal legend.
Also close to the camp site is the Bunduncundoo Springs with their lush growths of mosses and ferns, the waters of these springs are
cool, crystal clear and a good source of drinking water. The Aborigines also believed these waters had great healing powers and would immerse their children into them to cure bone problems.
