We are thinking of continuing on after the 2010 Wiluna national gathering to:

the Gunbarrel,
then David Carnegie Rd/Eagle hwy,
then Gary Hwy,
then to either Talawana Trk or Kidson Trk,
then to the CSR at either well24 or well 33,
for return south to Wiluna.

Note, subect to re-checking I have estimated the distances for the W24 option at 1589kms and the W33 option at 1913kms.

Assuming 5 hours/day actual driving at 35kph average, the total durations would be in the order of 9 days for W24 option and 11 days for W33 option. I have blocked out 14 days to provide a buffer for side trips such as Calvert Range.

If anyone thinks my calcs/assumptions are off the mark pls message me.


Note 2, subsequently to the above, one member has kindly informed me that he thinks we would be lucky to average much beyond 20kms per hour on the CSR (and from reading recent threads, I am inclined to believe him).

Therefore it seems likely that the actual trip dates estimate will need to be extended substantially by possibly up to 20 days in total.

As things get closer, I will undertake a more rigorous times estimate.
