Baz - The Landy

Photos: Baz - The Landy "Out and About - having fun"

A very pleasant drive for Sydney-siders or those visiting is a trip into the lower Blue Mountains to Burralow Creek in the Blue Mountains National Park.

Access is via Bells Line of Road at either the small village of Kurrajong taking Burralow road or further along via the Paterson Range fire trail near Bilpin.

The four wheel drive track, which covers approximately 25-kilometres, is moderately steep in some sections and not suitable at times of rain, but accessible to camper trailers in dry weather.

The campground at Burralow Creek is large and ideal for both small and larger groups with a pit toilet and a couple of walking tracks nearby. On the days we have visited there have been no more than a couple of campers - so you may even have it to yourself...

Just in case you were wondering “Baz – The Landy” came about as a consequence of owning three Land Rover Defenders, but as you can see this has now changed...

And yes, thank you, I've recovered fully from the experience!

But “Baz – The Landy” reference has stuck...!

Cheers, Baz – The Landy, Outback Australia…
