Lazy start to the day. Did some washing and then into town at 10.30. Went for a drive out to the Lincoln national Park. Back into town and to the camping shop. Bought two fly nets and a very cheap pair of Binoculars which were on sale. Also earned a 20c discount per litre on fuel bout there so topped up 55 litres at $1.18. Great. Back to the park and emptied food boxes and back of ute. Compiled a new shopping list for the desert and then a tidy-up and re-pack of possessions. The it was into Coles for a grocery shop and back to the park. Amazingly we fitted everything into the food boxes. Met a young couple Amelia and Darren who were also staying in the park who were travelling in a similar set-up to ours from WA and headed to Victoria.

Amanda shouted to the pictures to see Memoirs of a Geisha. Chick-flick to boot. Great old cinema and genuine 1980’s prices $8 and $6!! Arrived back at camp at 8.30 p.m. and Darren and Amelia came over for a few drinks and a cheese or two. Bed by 10.30-ish. Wind howled during the night.

trip would doubtless be attended with much hardship.''
