Hi All Soon to pick up an off road caravan and am wondering what the pros and cons are for heavy duty round 7 pin or flat 7 pin trailer plugs. ie does one hold in better than the other, does one fatigue more quickly than the other.? Cheers Craig

Hi everyone, I'm
after some advice or help with changing the connections to my toe vehicle. The van is a Windsor rapid, there is no battery installed in the van, and had a 12pin plug on the van. There is not really much room to install a battery and the patrol has a second battery and Anderson plug already installed. So there is a large gauge orange cable that goes to a fuse panel for the fridge, at the same fuse panel are two reds that do the internal and external lights. The orange is at the trailer plug but the reds aren't, so who knows where they pick up their power. I would like to change the wiring so all the running lights and brakes are through a 7pin plug and the lights and fridge are powered by the Anderson plug and second battery. Any advice is much welcomed.

Hi Just replaced the old 7 Pin plug with flat 12 pin unit (New van!). In the past, I have always used an elastic band to keep the 7 pin cap in place around the unit and stop the plug rattling out on corrugated roads (learnt the hard way!). Just wondering if people have had any similar issues with the 12 pin units and any simple ways to stop the plug rattling out. Very smooth main unit and hard to secure an elastic band around the 2 halves. many thanks

Hi all. My electric brakes on the van were hardly working so I replaced the magnets, no better. Then I replaced the brake shoes, no better. Now I have replaced the drums as well and they are still no better. Any advice please, I am getting desperate as we are supposed to be heading off for SA next Tuesday, if we're lucky. Many thanks, Bruce.
