Good evening all,

Can anyone recommend a reputable caravan inspection business in the Geelong area. Based in QLD but would like an inspection carried out prior to purchase.

Thanks in advance

I guess I must be a bit stupid.....

In January this year we bought a 2013 Bushtracker from its original owners, sight unseen...for well over $100K.

I'd seen pics on the internet (Bushtracker forum) and it looked really good.

My wife was ambivalent about the whole idea of purchasing a "wobbly box" at all; reckoned they're only for old people (I'm 61 but she is only in her mid 50's).... So Annette didn't even want to look at the photos and accompanied me to Canungra to complete the other 90% payment and pick-up the van not even knowing what I had purchased.

I think it's fair to say that she is now completely smitten by the new home away from home.

The previous lady owners had maintained the van in an immaculate condition; good as new.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that sometimes you have to go with your gut instincts.....but if you feel you need an inspection done, then go for it I guess.

Bill

PS: I did exactly the same thing 12 months earlier when I bought my 2012 Chev Silverado (ie: sight unseen)
Roachie....Don't follow me....I'm lost!

Roachie,

As you appear have a substantial cash reserve it probably wouldn't be a huge issue if it cost a bit to correct a deficiency.

Not everyone is that fortunate.

I've got a nice harbor bridge for sale if your interested?

Seriously though, I bought a camper trailer ex Melbourne site unseen but the cash did not leave my hands until the seller delivered it and I checked it out.

Jodie
I cannot assist with a repairer/inspector in Geelong.
However, it may assist if you advise the make model and what you know about it's history. Members may have first hand experience with the particular van you are looking to purchase and be able to suggest the pros/cons and the likely problem areas.
