Looking at 12V Televisions for <span class="highlight">caravan</span>

Sounds quality is the biggest problem,If you have a inverter I would buy a well known brand and do it that way.

Are you sure about the 70 amps? Seems way too high. Maybe it's 7? Which stills seems a lot.

I have a Wintel that works ok.

Teac LEV24GD3FHD is a 12 tv supplied with a 240v power supply. It is not cheap as it is a 24" High Definition unit, priced around $300. RRP price is a lot higher than that. Why such a small tv is in high definition I will never know. Sound on this particular tv is fine.

This should be available at Harvey Norman or the good guys. It draws around 3 amp.

Kogan I think sell one, but watch out for quality as many cheap ones can't be watched from an angle.

Hi, I have a 12 volt 22" Kogan that I am very happy with, view angle is very good, picture,etc. Think power is rated at 30 watt. 3-4 hours the volt meter doesn't move.The model with DVD is rated at 60 watt.

Do not buy a Sphere tv/dvd i have replaced the dvd twice.The tv is fine but the dvd is rubbish.Coast to coast carry spare dvd in stock that is how flash they are.

I also bought a Kogan, the first one stopped working so I returned it (postage paid by Kogan) and have had no problems since. Kogan are excellent to deal with and also have an excellent return/replacement'refund policy. Most TVs under 19" are 12 volt and come with a 240 volt adapter, Kogan have a lead specifically for their TVs 12 volt input or you can buy one from Jaycar or do as I did and knock one up yourself.
The 19" Kogan comes either with a DVD for $139 or without for $98, you can't beat that! Picture quality is as good as any other set.
Instead of a DVD I simply record movies/TV shows on a portable hard drive and plug that in to the Kogan. Any TV with a USB input should support a portable hard disk drive and movies can be downloaded from a number of internet sites. Depending on file format though, you may need to convert the file after downloading. Free converters are available on line.
HDs are a lot easier to cart around than a couple of dozen DVDs, they require no setup or tech knowledge, are easy to navigate and movies can be deleted or added at your leisure.

Current draw is 3 amps!

If the 70A was correct you could also use it as a heater or a toaster. That is 840W. Another reply suggests 7A but even that would be high.
