Had the above battery, N70 size, in the truck to run fridge, lights etc whilst camping. At Christmas it died. Just over 9 years old so can't complain. It had seen a lot of the outback in that time to areas such as Simpson, Gulf country, Kimberly and Pilbra

My research has told me that they are no longer made in Aust, but in Asia, since about 2014.

Are these current ones made the same as the old Australian ones? Haven't ever had a Century, but note they are still made in Australia. Are they any good?

Thanks

Sorry, personally I don't rate Century batteries.

In the N70 size there are several good manufacturers of marine batteries. ..... marine batteries are a rugged construction battery with stronger plate mounting and glass mat between the plates to help with shock and vibration.

Yeh century do a marine battery, they also do exactly the same battery in a different colour case and call it a 4wd battery ...... yeh and it retails for $10 more.

I have had a good run out of Supercharge Seamaster Golds ..... they are well regarded in the boating market.

If you have an account or are close to a Catapillar dealer, the Catapillar "earth moving" batteries are well regarded and well priced.

cheers

We adopted them as universal battery for all car applications some years ago Sonny.

I think we have about 8 now.

Try to never keep a battery more than 3 years , never had an issue.

In the Patrol size we use XN70ZZLMF , and over the yearsthey have grown in capacity to some 810 CCA and 95ah.

There are different types make sure its the red one sealed AGM.

hi
Used a lot of Century N70z and similar over 15-17 years . Nothing outstanding .
Average life span, average performance .
As people have metioned marine version is slightly better .
Watch the ahr . Most n70z are 75ahr . The larger marine is 100ah
