Gluing velcro to canvas

Some time ago a member responded to a question about a suitable glue for gluing velcro to canvas. He had worked in the canvas business and suggested Sikaflex 303 would do the job.
Sikaflex advise me that they do not have a 303 product and no product for that purpose. Perhaps the member is still watching such threads and he or someone else might be able to suggest an alternative. The position is too difficult to sew.

I would use Silaflex 11FC (because I always have it and it never fails). I have not used it for Velcro/canvas, but I have used it for Velcro/outdoor carpet.
Mask the canvas where you don't want adhesive, rub it
well in to both surfaces, then add a little extra, press together and VERY lightly clamp to keep it flat (not enough to squeeze adhesive out).

I have also done the same as Peter - but I use 227.
Also used it to stick the foam insulation onto the walls/roof of the trailer.

Think it might have been Sikaflex 227.
From this site some time ago.
I have used sika flex 227 to stick 50mm Velcro onto my trailer/awning to attach my batwing awning.
Just make sure you clean the area
well with prep wash or similar to remove grease. Mask the area with tape that you want to stick the Velcro too. Squeeze out the sika and spread out evenly. Lay Velcro on top of Kia and gently press it down (so you don't squeeze out the sika and make a mess) leave for 24 to 48 hours to cure.
Just make sure you think it through and lay it in the right place - once it cures you will never move it.

Might also rough it up with a light sandpaper to get rid of that waxy finish on the new canvas.

I must clarify that I was sticking Velcro to The metal of the trailer - not to canvas. So i am not to sure of the likely result of using 227 canvas to Velcro!
The applicTion I described in the original post is still working very effectively with no lifting or deterioration as yet.
Sika is a great product, but it will not bond to some surfaces eg poly carbonate/ glass. Unsure why - maybe nothing to grip too. Only time I've had success in these applications is to rough the surfaces Ito provide a "key" for the sika to bond too.

I have glued the velcro to a canvas patch which when dry, I will use canvas patch cement to glue it to the canvas tent.
I will advise this
