Fridge drop down slides

Thanks for the reply. An upright was thought of, however they have a downside. The self emptying factor when first opened :-)

Ha ha, Lyndon, don’t you also mean all the cold air falls out too? Words from the uninitiated!

They’re the usual retorts by those who haven’t used them, however most, if not all upright fridges have a lip at the front of the shelves, and the Waeco’s even have a hinged flap on the lower shelves. Careful packing of the fridge reduces, if not stops, items doing a swan dive into the Simpson/CSR sand.

As for all the cold air falling out, at the start of a trip, a well packed fridge has 3/5ths of bugger all air inside to fall out. My wife, who approves of our upright, devised a folding piece of cardboard, that blocks most of any air falling out, if one is only getting something out of the door.

Anyway, it’s your choice & a chest style fridge would be more efficient in your climate.

We found some plastic storage bins that fit neatly side to side and between shelves so there is no wasted space. Even if the bins are only partially filled little "cold falls out".

Are you saying that the drop down slide is 40kgs heavier than a standard fridge slide?

Firstly I do not know what a “standard fridge slide” is.
But what I am saying is a good and heavy duty drop slide like those mentioned work a treat but weighs 40kg.

Non drop fridge slides also weigh around 40 kgs, so wether you use a drop slide or a standard non drop slide, they weigh about the same. Depending on the drawer setup, some draws come with a built in fridge slide.
