After waiting 5 months for this vehicle to be built in Germany and fitted out by Frontline it was stolen on sunday from their Tullamarine showroom just before delivery to myself.

The vehicle is almost identical to attached photo.

It is the AWD 4motion version fitted with mechanical diff lock , rotating seats, black alloy wheels.

Please keep a lockout for it , unfortunately it was not yet registered .

Sorry to hear about your new undelivered vechile Robin. I know you spoke much about it at the last gathering. Stolen for the showroom? Must have a bit of gall about them, and know exactly what they wanted, when and where eh.

Yeah Garry , feeling is it was targeted.

Was our means of staying on the road for longer and also taking it to Mt Ive.

Near to no chance of getting similar so our plans are somewhat stuffed , but then that goes for lots of people over the coming months !

Was it trucked away or driven away? If not dragged onto a trailer or truck, it is most likely an inside job where an enterprising dealer person who has access to keys and codes can circumvent the security and drive it away. Happens more than you think.

Yeah my Patrol wasn't to impressed with prospect of being replaced , and more it was thoroughly upset with maybe being replaced by a diesel.

The major problem is, that vehicle theft recovery occupies a very low level of priority in police force operations.

They simply regard it as a replaceable manufactured item, and they may come across it accidentally during some other police activity.

Why does it take so long just to get a simple VW campervan? If it takes that long to get the van, what is the wait time for parts?

Cheers, Ron.

I really don't know Ron but one reason I got it was that 5month delivery was much shorter than normal because one containing basic features was already being built.

I guess they get made to order in Germany , then weeks to ship to Australia and then more to build local camper bits in Sydney , then shipped to Vic for rego stuff.

Hi Robin
Not what you wanted as you and Anne had some great plans to do in this car. l heard the whisky helped ease the pain for now. You have to reacess your future travel plans now and hope you come up with a solution to be able to do them.
Best of health and safe travels how ever you get there.
