Lets hope they do! I also wish that every Victorian and New South Welshman who are planning holidays to visit the places in their own states that were bushfire affected. These places are continuing to suffer. Dont spend your money elsewhere...look after your own community first!! Naturally stay covid safe.

This weekend heading up to a mates place at Mallacoota which was badly effected by the fires. Also it has been a reasonably mild winter down here, luckily??

As soon as lockdown in greater Melbourne is lifted we will be touring the East of Vic, spending money in the hardest hit areas.

I live in an area that does not have Covid at the moment and minimal restrictions - mainly social distancing and masks are not required.

Now things could change quickly so I thought I might get some masks so I would be ready - chemist wants $5 for a single use mask - wtf - I guess you would go through a few each day so the expense runs up.

So where is the cheapest outlet to buy masks and what sort of price should I pay for one use masks.

Ozzie
MITRE 10 have two different options. I paid $11:50 for 5 and a friend bought 50 / $ 59 at same store. Might save a fine.

Earlier this week I got 2x50 surgical masks from a reputable Australian supplier on eBay for $50. Not sure what the prices are now.

Ok thanks - we dont have Mitre 10 here and was hoping there was another well known business that may have them at a reasonable price. I guess I could just use a scarf or big hankie.

Great thanks - Bunnings is why we have no Mitre 10 or any other hardware stores in the area.

Chemist Warehouse has a variety Ozzie. Free freight to some locations. Stock comes and goes.

Costco did have individually sealed disposables for about $40/50 pack. Don't know if they still have stock.

Ozbargain regularly has mask deals. If you join (free) you can set up an alert when new deals on masks/anything are posted. Some comments under deals re quality etc are useful but you have to wade thru the bs.

Core420 - do you have a link to the ebay seller?

For anyone looking for disposable masks here's another option. Check freight because there is a surcharge for some areas:
50 disposable masks for ~$25

Some comments from seller:
Multi Layered: The face mask is 3-ply to ensure your protection.
Premium Quality: Made from high quality non-woven melt-blown fabric.
Comfortable: A one-size fits all design with an adjustable metal band to ensure a perfect fit on your nose and soft, non-irritating, breathable fabric.

Fast Shipping: Bit Pixel Tech products are shipped from our Melbourne fulfilment centre and will be delivered to you in as little as 1-2 days with a tracking number provided for peace of mind.
Current ones in stock come with a thick soft and much more comfortable ear loop.
A $13 surcharge will apply for orders placed to remote addresses by our shipping provider Sendle. Please order 3+ masks [packs] or provide a non-remote shipping address to avoid this surcharge. You are more than welcome to request a cancellation and full refund if you find out you are in a remote address and do not wish to pay the $13 surcharge.

"Remote parcel deliveries are charged a simple flat-rate surcharge of $13 (or $11.81 excl. GST) on top of the national rate." - Sendle Web Page

Mask Fitting Tips

Hope this helps some.

Thanks for the link....just ordered 2 and they're now $21.99 per pack.

I don't know if I'll ever need them in Tassy...here's hoping not, but they will be handy in the workshop anyway.

Victorians will be issued with muzzles, not masks as they don't know how to "sit and stay".
