I am mapping out a route
home to the ACT from
Brisbane with two overnight stops. I need to avoid various NSW lgas that have been declared hotspots. Who would have thought that a map layer with lga boundaries would become an important trip planning tool? Armidale and Dubbo are on the no go list but not
Uralla or Parkes so it's doable without going back to the far west.
The ACT are strict with regards to transiting, no exiting the vehicle. A visit to a roadside tree in the wrong place earns you 14 days in
home quarantine. Fortunately at the moment we have to notify ACT Health and follow the
Brisbane lockdown rules which is somewhat better.

Goondiwindi first night, still in Qld, then Parkes second night, ACT next day.
Goondiwindi to Parkes is a 640 k's fairly easy drive, don't tell anyone, but go via
Mendooran, quicker and less traffic. Good luck.

If coming from
Brisbane you will have to self isolate for up to 14 days when arriving in the ACT.

Yes it's stay at
home except for the 4 reasons, slightly less restrictive than quarantine. If as expected the lockdown is rescinded on Sunday, it will be whatever the ongoing SEQ orders are for 14 days AFAIK.

I could be wrong but not sure how that makes any sense leaving Bris and potentially carrying something and spreading it on the way then go into isolation when you get
home.
I wonder why the human race isn't going to get this virus under control and think getting a needle will solve everything. Not having a go at individuals but if that's what the authorities still want people to do then they haven't learnt anything from the previous mistakes.

I agree with coming to
Goondiwindi then down to Narrabri across to Wee Waa and stay at Pilliga
Bore for the night - they have a hot
bore there with
bush camping (showers
toilets)
Then onto Coonamble Gilgandra and when you get to
Eumungerie turn right and go to
Narromine and back onto highway at Tomingley (usually good fuel prices).
A mate of
mine always travelled that way and found whilst it was slightly further the fuel and time were about the same.

AJ, except for the
free camp at Pilliga
Bore, which if no time limits etc, would appeal to many, that route is an extra 88 k's and an hours travelling, going via
Mendooran,
free camp across from the pub I believe, is a lot less traffic, very few trucks and and easy drive.

Peak Hill. I was more commenting on the need to know what lga you are in before even exiting the vehicle. Strange times.

I would be wary of
Uralla as that is likely to be in the Armidale LGA which is in lockdown and will further compound entering back into the ACT - I assume the published rules have not as yet been updated.
I think I would be heading down further west.

Uralla is in its own lga, but who knows if you are retrospectively going to be in an exposure area, so now thinking of the Newell.
Brisbane is currently on track to lift the lockdown tomorrow.

If stopped by the forces they will ask where you have been and if they find you have been circumnavigating LGAS and then forced to have a
test, "which will be POSITIVE before they admit it is Negative", then they may claim you as a SuperSpreader, all helps with the hype. You see, it helps keep the numbers up where the CHO's want it. Still have to isolate in ACT though.

RMD, it's perfectly fine to transit via hotspots as long as you remain in the vehicle, you can also transit through NSW from a hotspot if you don't live in NSW, as long as you haven't been a primary or secondary contact. For SEQ, the ACT only requires that you notify ACT health and follow the Qld lockdown rules.
