Marree man info says 1998 build and restored in 2016. AFAIR I thought there was a 1970's version. But 33 years off 1998 gives 1965 for Readymix??? Quirkily enough these are the years for enhanced Leonid meteor shower fireball activity . Hey, it's only 10 years till 2031. Should be spectacular from dark outback skies.

Edit - found it on Ex Oz topo as a clearly marked diamond. Dead centre is
32° 13' 0.12"S and 125 deg 21 min 35 sec east.

1965 for Readymix is possible. When I was transferred to Perth in 1969 the Readymix sign was a well-established aviation landmark. I flew over it a number of times in Ansett's Lockheed Electras (remember them?)

I remember seeing it from the air on commercial flights from Perth to Adelaide in the mid 60s.
Wasn't the logo made by the Eyre highway construction crew?

I think it probably was, Rod. That would narrow down its date of origin. For years it was on pilots' World Aeronautical Charts (WAC) as a readily (pun unintentional!) identifiable landmark. I don't know if that's still the case - it might not be prominent enough now - and I don't have access to a current chart to check.
