Happy new year to all.
Thanks for the advice I recieved in regards to the gear box had it changed for a good price. One other problem when in two wheel drive the indicator lights for the front wheels start flashing then it feel like the hand brake is comming on and the car wants to pull up then I there is a thump from under the vehicle. At the moment the I have to run the heap in 4wd. When she is cold there is no problem only when she warms up this problem was happening with the old box too but not related to the worn gearbox.. Thanks Harry

Not quite sure what you are on about here but if you have manual hubs it sounds like you are driving in 4wd on sealed surfaces which is NOT ON as the wheels are all locked together & trying to rotate at the same speed which they dont whenyou turn left or right. This places huge load on the tranny & feels like the vehicla is under brakes as U said. Likey to be the start of the next BIG BANG!

iannic,
I can manage to drive ok takes a bit of work to get drive without all wheels locking up but I have to drive in 4wd its just whilst in 2wd the indicator lights for the front wheels start flashing and when she starts to lock up then I stop the Pajero put itto 4wd then reverse it a couple of feet and then it drives ok in 4wd but I can't go to 2wd
