Further to the thread and the short blog re this species...........
There is also a waddi tree near the school grounds in
Boulia. The pics are from just south of
Boulia. Just happened to catch them in flower, after the big wet in that area in 2011.The flowers are so similar to many wattles. Note too the spelling Waddi with an i. The common name is purple gidyea - although some dispute that.
