Getting Ready to Travel

Easter saw a major overhaul of the trailer and how to pack it. I decided to change the position of the Thumper and make it more accessible. Also created more space in the lower compartment by cutting the side out of two plastic water jerry cans to make neat slide in & out containers.

The battery is so heavy that I need to add another strut under the floor which required a trip to Bunnings. I have such a love/hate relationship with that place! There are two kinds of shopping in hardware places. One is the wandering, thinking, inventing kind for which one needs space and time and they are good at this. Then there is the occasion when the task is already defined and the shopping list is clear and I need direction to find some of the items. I know the place well enough to find most things but can hardly stand the interminable searching for the elusive few, at which time the staff are equally elusive. Recently I wanted some angle iron and was told they no longer stock it because they didn't sell enough. Felt very disgruntled at this, thinking to myself, "Am I in a hardware shop or some tickety-boo imitation?" Turned two corners and found.... slotted angle iron which will do very nicely! The young man wasn't thinking.
