Darwin Via the Gulf June/July 2013 Day 319/06/13
Pretty easy day today, 420k of tar to Mount Surprise, the road was dual lane most of way and there were no roadworks which was great. We travelled through undulating grassland which was quite lush, not really the type of country I expected.
On our arrival at Mount Surprise we went straight to Bedrock Village CP, where we will stay two nights. The CP is really nice, powered sites only $36.00 for two adults, there is a restaurant, and an outdoor under cover eating area. The sites are pretty big and well spaced.
Tomorrow we are booked in to go on a half day tour of the Lava Tubes, but tonight as usual we are all in bed at 1930hrs, as I write this there is a fair bit of noise coming from the eating area, but I reckon it will die down pretty quick.
So far so good, everything going to plan and nothing broken YET !, oh except for a small stone chip on the windscreen complements of a large cattle truck.
Looking forward to tomorrow at the Lava Tubes, and hsving a look around Mount Surpise.

Cheers
