Late start this morning, by the time we crawled out of bed, had breakfast, and packed up camp it was 9am, as we left Corrella Dam there was a convoy of Grey Nomads heading out.
we did see an interesting sight while leaving though, one of the CT's being towed out had loaded on the rack, not the usual camping gear, but instead a pair of wheelie walkers.
It did make me wonder how people who need whelie walkers set up a camper trailer, now dont get me wrong, I'm not knocking them, in fact I say good on them for getting out there.
We had aimed to get to Longreach today and after a long day on the road we got there about 4pm.
We stayed at the Longreach Tourist park on the Eastern side of town, we had stayed there last year on a site overlooking the Billabong, no such luck this year it was very busy and all the sites overlooking the billabong were booked out.
After setting up we strolled over to look at he billabong to find it was dry as a bone.
Its not a bad park, pretty good ammenities, and not too expensive, they also put on entertainment at times, tonight they had a sausage sizzle and a country singer around the campfire.
The kids found some other kids camped nearby and entertained themselves before dinner and bed, while we relaxed with a beer.
Tommorrow its off to Mitchel for our last two nights.
