When we arrived at the campground the previous day, Thomas River was running quite high after all that rain.
It didn't take long to subside though, especially as the river mouth is only a couple of hundred metres away from the campsite.

With the sun shining, we began to explore the immediate area. There is a pleasant walk trail which starts near the river mouth, taking you to Dove Cove, Little Tagon and Tagon Beach.

Due to erosion from the winter storms, Tagon Beach was closed during our visit. A new beach access track had also been put in place near the river mouth for the same reason.

The walk to Dove Cove has some wonderful views of the Bay along its length.

We also spotted a whale and her calf from the rocky outcrop. Apparently the pair of them had been visiting the Bay every day for nearly a week. It's a magnificent sight to see them lazing around in the shallow water, not a care in the world, enjoying the sun and surf at their own pace.

Little Tagon has a track leading from the beach to a carpark area with the most glorious wildflowers on either side.
Life IS Good! No matter how much manure you have to deal with - it's all just fertiliser ;)
