Day at Mt Ive Station

We spent today going around the flight path track of Mt Ive station.

The station has a few treks of between 1 to 4 hour treks, that are all written up in a binder that they lend to you. There is a $20 fee for the track use and binder which seemed fair enough.

The Flight path track was ok. We saw some great rhyolite organ pipe formations, and had a nice picnic lunch. They mark the trek as being moderate to experienced, but its pretty easy with any 4wd with low range. Just a bit slow with the rocky track.

We met the Mt Ive donkey this afternoon. The donkey boiler fires the hot water showers. The boys took 5 minutes, but the girls made sure they got their money's worth. They sure looked good when they came out though.

In the afternoon we drive out to lake Gairdner. Quite corrugated road. Lake Gairdner is currently wet. So apart from some salt on the edges, it's a lake.
