Blue sky's at last!

The road to Birdsville had sporadic puddles and rutted muddy patches, particularly as you got closer to Birdsville. It took about 5 hours driving to get here.

We stopped at Betoota. Tony thought we could have a beer with lunch. Then as we walked around we realised they ran out of beer a while ago. It was abandoned in 1997. We walked through the abandoned bar and hotel, by the light of an iPhone flashlight. There was even an old yellow bus in the backyard.

We're camping on the bank of the Diamantina river. It's quite big and flowing quite fast today. But we're about 8m above the water.
