Baz - The Landy

Story and photos: Baz - The Landy

How magnificent and diverse is our Australian Wildlife…

Check out this little 'fella, a dragon affectionately known as the ta-ta Lizard due to its peculiar habit of waving its front leg before running away, oddly enough almost in an upright position.

The waving is possibly due to standing on hot surfaces, after all they reside in the northern and hotter parts of Australia!

And checkout the size of its tail and back feet!

Its actual name is the Gilbert’s Dragon, Amphibolurus Gilbert and I photographed it whilst Out and About in one of our favourite outback places, Lawn Hill Gorge, a spectacular oasis in a barren land…

Just in case you were wondering “Baz – The Landy” came about as a consequence of owning three Land Rover Defenders, but as you can see this has now changed...

And yes, thank you, I've recovered fully from the experience!

But “Baz – The Landy” reference has stuck...!

Cheers, Baz – The Landy, Outback Australia…
