Let's go to Tasmania - from our wonderful 2006 trip

Saturday, Apr 01, 2006 at 02:00

For those lucky enough (rather smart enough) to be heading to Tasmania this summer, you are invited to read my travelogues about places we found so special about Tasmania. It is divided into six Blogs, roughly in geographic sections. This was not necessarily the chronological order of the trip, and regions visited more than once have been grouped together geographically for easy reading.

We covered at first the northern strip (as far east as Launceston and the Tamar inlet), then headed down the west side of Tasmania. After crossing through the Centre, we visited Mt Field National Park and the Gordon River dam. Then we toured the south and east sections, heading up the east coast, touring the north east corner, then back down through the historic Midlands. Next we went up through the mountainous centre before finishing areas we had missed including around the Western Tiers and the Southern Arthur forests.

Please open the attachment to start the tour of the north coast and hinterland, including Cradle Mountain, Gunns Plains, Sheffield and Stanley, then check out the other five Blogs. Enjoy sharing our journey.
