Here at ExplorOz we like to get out into the bush as often as possible even if we can't get away in
the
4WD for camping.
Sometimes we go hiking, othertimes we explore bike trails, and other times we go trail running. Often
these are areas where there's no cellular phone coverage but everytime we head out bush we carry our
"phones" so that we have access to refer to the offline topographic EOTopo maps within the ExplorOz
Traveller app. We also find the "snail trail" feature is very handy for backtracking and we can
plot out distances and deal with unexpected changes with confidence.
Many people don't realise that their smartphone has a built in GPS chip so it can receive location
data from satellites when there's no
mobile service or Wifi. But to use this GPS data, you'll need to have a program like the
ExplorOz
Traveller app and offline maps. In the
ExplorOz Traveller app,
the offline map for the whole of Australia is purchased separately for just $49.99 and download is

EXPLOROZ TRAVELLER V4
We released Version 4 of the ExplorOz Traveller app last month and have received
tons of positive feedback confirming it has proven very stable across all platforms (Apple, Android,
Windows).
There have been so many updates that we had to completely re-write the User Manual and the webpage so

NEW TREKS
We've recently added 6 new public Treks - you can access these free on the website or download them to
the
Traveller app to navigate along the provided route. These new treks are not for vehicular use, but you
can
walk, cycle or ride a horse along these fabulous shared-use paths that have been repurposed from
historial railway corridors in Victoria. We now have a total of 193 Treks covering the whole of
Australia - which you can access free from the website.
