Blencoe Falls camping area offers both walk-in and vehicle-based
bush camping in a peaceful setting. There are some sites nestled amongst trees adjacent to Blencoe Creek or larger sites in open woodland that are a short walk from the creek.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your
camp site.
Toilets are provided in the
camping area and drinking water is not provided. Generators are allowed subject to conditions.
Camp fires are permitted subject to conditions. Suitable for 4WD, off-road camper trailers and tents.
To avoid trampling vegetation, disturbing wildlife and causing erosion, please keep your four-wheel-drive vehicle on marked tracks. Failure to stay on the track may incur a penalty.
If you prefer to rough it, then limited
bush camping opportunities exist as part of the Wet Tropics Great Walk. These are hike-in sites and campers need to be totally self-sufficient.
Camp fires are allowed within the camping areas but firewood must not be collected from the national park.
Vehicle-based camping is not permitted in the walk-in
camping area.
Before travel,
check Park Alerts as conditions for the National Park can change from time to time.
Blencoe Falls—one of the most stunning waterfalls in Australia—plunges 90m to
the pool below, before cascading a further 230m to the bottom of Blencoe
Gorge. The Falls can be reached by road from the
camping area on
Blencoe Falls Access Road. There is no camping at the
Blencoe Falls Lookout.
