At
False Entrance Point, you will have commanding
views of the Indian Ocean to the west and south,
False Entrance Bay to the east and northwards towards
Steep Point.
Back tracking and taking the main track to the left and after numerous left and rights around dunes you will be on the beach. Follow the beach north and before the beach ends turn off to the right into an area of sand dunes. The spot is easy to find because beach sand dunes flatten out and vegetation ceases.
The Steep Point/
False Entrance area is now managed by the Department of Environment and Conservation. You will need to complete a camping permit request form to book campsites before entering the area. A copy of the permit request and information on fee's that apply is available
here.
