Len Beadell knew of Bungabiddy Rockhole whilst building the Sandy Blight Junction Road. When he discovered it, he described it as a small rock basin containing crystal-clear water and felt it would be useful for people using the road in the future. He thought it was deep enough that there would be permanent water here.
The access road into the rockhole is narrow and rocky. It ends at this point, but you are still about 300m from the actual rock pools which can easily be reached along a walking track.
Near the car park area, there is an old blazed tree, believed to have been made by Frank Hann in 1904. At the actual waterhole there are very old Aboriginal rock paintings, so please do not touch or damage the paintings.
